The XIV International Clay Conference will start on Saturday evening 13 when we welcome you to the Icebreaker Party, at the Calané Conference Centre.
The meeting is organized into 5 days. It consists of 43 special and 4 plenary sessions and poster contributions.
Oral presentations will be 20 minutes long, questions included. An invited lecture (30 minutes long) opens each session. The plenary lectures will be 40 minutes long.

Pre- and post-conference activities includes two field trips and a high level school for clay scientists.
You can participate in Field trips to Aeolian Islands (11-12 June) and Northern Sardinia (21-22 June). They will be confirmed by the end of March if the minimum number of 10 participants is reached.
Aeolian Islands: confirmed. Northern Sardinia: cancelled.

The first edition of the AIPEA School for Young Scientists (Interstratified Clay Minerals: Origin, Characterisation and Geochemical Significance; 12-13 June) is expected to have a 14-hour seminar which will be held by 9 specialists.

All the registered participants and accompanying people are invited to join the cultural excursions free of charge which will take place on Monday 15 and Wednesday 17. We will visit two Unesco World Heritage sites: “Trulli di Alberobello” and “Sassi di Matera”. Participants will be divided into two groups, so please apply for your choice on your CPP.

After-dinner shows, free of charge, will take place at the Calané Hotel: Live Music (Sunday 14), Mime Show (Monday 15), Live Music & Wine Party (Tuesday 16) Taranta Show (Apulian traditionsl dance; Wednesday 17), Live Music (Thursday 18).

The XIV International Clay Conference will end on Friday 19 with a Conference Banquet followed by dances at Calané Hotel. We are working hard to make this event memorable.
